New and Improved Snowman Picture Frame!

Well I wasn't happy with the one I had made before. I will still keep it up here if anyone would ever want to try it, but... I like this one a lot better. :-D

Jamie Baby Pompadour (sp?) yarn
small amount sport/baby weight orange, and navy blue (or color of choice for scarf)
F hook
yarn needle
1 1/2 inch wide plastic ring for 'frame' part (I used/recycled the plastic ring from my husbands' 32 oz. Gatorade bottles he takes to work--first picture)
Two small buttons for eyes
Flower (or other type) sequin
Two pom-poms
matching color pipe cleaner
hot glue gun
magnet for back
plastic canvas circle--do they still make those? (trimmed to fit back of snowman body, for frame back--optional? Or use whatever you have on hand, a cardboard circle, whatever...)
Note: Make a slipknot on hook, with hook still in slipknot, hold behind the ring and slip stitch around it. You will be crocheting around the ring. Try to get the stitches as close together as you can, and push them together as you go along is the best way I can describe it. :) And mark your first stitch.
Body:
Make 40 sc around ring. Join.
Rnd 2: Ch 3. Dc in same space as ch 3. *Dc in next sc. 2 dc in next sc. Rep from *, around, ending w/ a dc in last sc. (60 dc). Join.
Rnd 3: Sc backwards in each dc all around. Join and fasten off.
Head:
Rnd 1: Ch 4. Sl st to form a ring. 15 dc in ring. Join.
Rnd 2: 2 dc in each dc. Join
Rnd 3: Sc backwards all around. Join & fasten off leaving a length to sew head to body. Whipstitch together over about 6 or 7 'stitches'.
Nose:
With orange, ch 6. Sl st in 2nd ch from hook. Sc in next 2 chs, hdc in next 2. Fasten off leaving a length to sew onto head. Sew over the 'hole'.
Scarf:
With blue (or color of choice) Ch 25. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next 5 ch. Ch 16. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across to "neck" part. Sl st in space between 2 ch groups on neck. Sc in each ch to end. Fasten off, leaving a length, for 'fringe'. Make another 3 or 4 inch piece for 'fringe' on other end. Sew scarf to snowman head. Mine kinda curled so I went with it. :P
Other stuff: Wind the pipe cleaner around your crochet hook, then curve it to go over head. Cut where you think is good. I kinda just poked it into the back of the head, then glued the pom-poms over the ends. Cut plastic canvas circle to fit back of snowman body, then either glue or use your yarn needle to sew onto body, leaving top part open to put a picture into. Glue magnet onto back of plastic canvas circle first, though. Glue eyes onto head. You're done. :-) I haven't tested this or had it tested, so if anything isn't clear (which it might not be!) let me know and I will change it. Finished frame is approx. 6 3/4 inches tall (including the 'earmuffs'. Frame itself is approx. 5 3/4 ".
*This is a free pattern and is not to be sold. You can however sell the finished snowman, if you can find a buyer! ;P
