Snowman Picture Frame

H hook
Small amount worsted weight yarn; white, black, orange, and red (or color of choice for scarf)
Two big googly eyes (I had some bigger ones but didn't find them til after I had already glued those on)
Five or six small black buttons or puffy paint if you are good with that
Yarn needle

Frame
With white, ch 30 and join being careful not to twist stitches. Ch 3, dc in same space as ch 3, 2 dc in each ch around. Join. (60 dc)
Rnd 2: Ch 3. *BPDC (back post double crochet) around next st. FPDC (front post double crochet) around next stitch. Rep from * around. Join w/ sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch-3. Fasten off, leaving a long tail.

Head:
Ch 4, join to make ring. 15 dc in ring. Join
Rnd 2: Ch3. Dc in same stitch. 2 dc in each dc around. Join.
Rnd 3: Ch 1. *Sc in next dc, 2 sc in next dc; rep from *around. Join (48 sc) Fasten off. Placing head on top of body, w/ tail from body, and w/ fasten off part from head at top, whip stitch head & body together over about four or five stitches. Weave in end.

Carrot nose: W/ orange, ch 7. Sl st in 2nd ch from hook. Sc in next 2 chs. Hdc in next 3 chs. Fasten off leaving a length to sew on. (Sew it on)

Scarf: W/ red, (or color of choice), ch 21. Hdc in 2nd ch from hook and in next 5 chs. Now, ch 15, or as long as the other chain is, (plus one) and sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Sl st in base of scarf, then sc in each ch across to end. Fasten off. Make little fringe on each end. Tie scarf in 'knot'. Sew short end to 'neck' of snowman.

Hat: W/ black, ch 8. Sc in 2nd ch from hook & each ch across.
Rows 2-5: Ch 1, sc in each sc across. Turn. At end of row 5, do not turn or fasten off. Ch 4. Sc in 2nd ch from hook & in next 2 chs. Sc in each sc across. Ch 4, sc in 2nd ch from hook & each ch across. When you get back to the base of the hat, kind of twist piece upside down and sl st to side of last row of sc. Fasten off, leaving a long length to sew onto snowmans' head.

Using hot glue gun (or glue), glue eyes and mouth buttons to head. Glue a couple of magnets to the back. I was thinking about getting one of those round plastic canvas thingies to glue to the back of it and leave the top half open to put a picture in. I haven't done it yet, though; so I don't know if it will work or not. :)
